There has been on an acknowledgement of the special places around San Francisco bag or something sort of the innate in human beings I think that 10 to recognise a good spot when you see it you know spot that takes your breath away this was one of them an icon of the new deal we still here a week ago we are all these dignitaries talk about the symbol that quite terriers for San Francisco and I think it's interesting that those of us in the Pioneer Park project are trying to make the point that not only the tower not only this man built edifice here is a symbol of the city but also the green space in which it says in the Hill on on which it rest it was going to be a wonderful observation place because it was one of the highest hills in the city anyway and that um that was the whole reason why it was built that high and had the elevator access immediately from the beginning as part of its features my father's studio was just down the Filbert Street steps we were in very small apartment and that it was her backyard when they were preparing the site for other coit Tower there was always a lot of carpet and griping about how awful progress was and why they would choose this beautiful are pristine area to do I was a big question as soon as they are quite tower was getting finished and someone put in the idea that it should be used for art sudden he was excited about the coit Tower my favourite of all is the staircase it's on almost a miracle masterpiece how he could manage to not only fit and everyone of course the lot of them I recognise from my childhood it's how he asks deposed and manage to kind of climate that stairway on either side very much like you were walking down the street it was incredible to do that in to me that is what depicted the life of the time in San Francisco
